Stella O’Donnell (nee Gregory) BSc 1959 (pharmacy) BSc 1960 (pharmacology) PhD 1963 DSc 1984, University of Leeds. Registered pharmacist UK 1960 Australia 1979. Joined University of Queensland Brisbane Australia 1964. Taught undergraduate pharmacology and ran active research group for 36 years. Research area mainly pharmacology of asthma; many postgraduate students and worldwide collaborators. Professor of Pharmacology 1990. Retired in 2000 as Emeritus Professor. Set up a consultancy. Established new Pharmacy School for Griffith University at the Gold Coast and also a Home Medicines Review service. Positions have included National Secretary APPS, member ASCEPT Council, Chair National Committee for Pharmacology, Chair Australian Government’s Therapeutic Goods Committee (TGC), President Queensland Branch of PSA. Life Fellow PSA (FPS). Appointed Officer in the Order of Australia (AO) in 2000 for contributions to pharmaceutical science, pharmacology, asthma research and community. Married the late Professor Jim O’Donnell in 1963 (deceased 1995); 2 daughters, 8 grandchildren, Brisbane resident.
